Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son on Tuesday held a phone conversation with Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty, during which both sides affirmed their commitment to expanding bilateral collaboration.
Minister Abdelatty emphasized that Vietnam is an important partner for Egypt in the region, noting that there remains significant untapped potential in areas such as economic exchange, investment, and people-to-people connections.
He said Egypt is eager to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese businesses and investors. Abdelatty further highlighted that Vietnamese companies could leverage Egypt's extensive network of free trade agreements with regions like MERCOSUR, Saudi Arabia, and Africa to enhance exports to these markets, which encompass over two billion consumers.
Expressing gratitude for Egypt’s condolences following the damage caused by super typhoon Yagi, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Son underscored the importance of maintaining high-level contacts and fostering mutual support at multilateral forums, particularly within the United Nations and the Non-Aligned Movement. He also proposed enhanced cooperation to strengthen ties between both nations' foreign ministries and promote collaboration with regional organizations.
Both ministers pledged to bolstering Vietnam-Egypt relations, highlighting the traditional friendship that serves as the foundation for their growing multifaceted partnership.
