Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee meets

(VOVworld) – The Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) opened a conference in Hanoi on Monday.

Addressing the conference, Nguyen Thien Nhan, the Politburo member and Front’s president, highlighted the significance of the conference to the Front’s tasks in 2014 and preparations for the 8th VFF Congress. Nhan asked delegates to contribute their opinion on renewing content and operational methods of the Front. 

At the opening session, the delegates heard a resolution adopted by the Party Central Committee on basically and comprehensively renovating education and training to meet the demands of industrialization and modernization in the socialist-oriented market economy and international integration. The delegates also heard reports on the 2013 socio-economic situation and tasks for 2014. The conference will focus on coordinating programs to unite the Front’s activities this year and discuss plans for the 8th VFF National Congress.
