(VOVworld) – Germany’s Lichtenberg district wants to strengthen cooperation with localities of Vietnam, a key German key partner with strong potential for further development, said Lichtenberg Mayor Birgit Monteiro at a meeting this week in Berlin with Vietnamese Ambassador. Monteiro praised the achievements of Vietnamese people living in Germany and said she was impressed by Hanoi’s rapid, dynamic development during her visit to Vietnam last November.

Ambassador Doan Xuan Hung asked Lichtenberg authorities to help Vietnamese people integrate into the local community and contribute to Germany’s development as a way to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

More Vietnamese nurses will be working in Germany, the two leaders agreed. They also discussed broader cooperation in culture, education, and environmental protection.
