During her visit to Italy on Tuesday, State Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan met with President of the Lombardy Regional Government Attilio Fontana, highlighting potential cooperation in trade, investment, and climate change response.
Vice President Xuan proposed forming partnerships between Lombardy and key Vietnamese localities, noting that the newly launched direct flight between Hanoi and Milan will boost cultural and economic exchange.
President Fontana welcomed the initiative, praising Vietnam’s recent administrative reforms and affirming the strong interest of Lombardy businesses in investing in Vietnam. He said the direct route will facilitate deeper trade and people-to-people connections.
Both sides discussed cooperation in digital transformation, education, energy transition, and the circular economy, showing shared commitment to elevating Vietnam–Italy relations.
