During a phone talk on Friday, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim discussed bilateral relations and emerging regional and global issues.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh proposed further strengthening cooperation in trade, maritime and ocean affairs, prioritizing oil and gas cooperation between PetroVietnam and Malaysia’s Petronas, joint fishing activities, and efforts to combat illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing.
Discussing recent tensions between Cambodia and Thailand, both Prime Ministers expressed their hope that all parties would exercise restraint, refrain from the use of force, engage in dialogue, and resolve differences peacefully.
They agreed to coordinate closely with other Southeast Asian countries to strengthen unity, promote dialogue, and contribute to peace, stability, and cooperation.
