Vietnam marks Science and Technology Day
(VOVWORLD) - Science, technology, and innovation are not only the driving force for economic growth but also the foundation for building a prosperous Vietnam, a strategic tool to improve labor productivity, protect the environment, respond to climate change, and enhance the quality of life for our citizens, said a senior official.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung was speaking at the "Vietnam Science and Technology Day May 18" event. He added that science and technology are a key driving force to restructure the economy, establish a new growth model, and transform Vietnam into a developed, high-income country by 2045.
Mr. Dung said: "Efforts should be made to fine-tune the legal framework to create an open and transparent environment, so that it enables science and technology to spread throughout all aspects of socio-economic life. The national innovation ecosystem must be developed comprehensively and people and businesses placed at its center."
"Boost science diplomacy, proactively and deeply integrate into global science, technology, and innovation. Science diplomacy must exemplify a nation that listens with reason and engages in dialogue with knowledge, bringing Vietnamese scientific advancements to the world while serving as a bridge to import the world's most valuable innovations to Vietnam," the Deputy PM added.
Outstanding scientific and technological achievements of 2024 were honored at the event.
