Vietnam, Nepal seek to bolster traditional friendship

(VOVWORLD) - The Prime Ministers of Vietnam and Nepal on Sunday expressed their wish to further strengthen the traditional friendship and fruitful cooperation nurtured by generations of leaders and people over the past 50 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations.

Meeting on the sidelines of the 2025 Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit in Tianjin, China, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his Nepalese counterpart Khadga Prasad Sharma Oli agreed to promote exchanges of delegations at all levels and accelerate the signing of new trade and investment agreements to bring bilateral relations to a level commensurate with both countries’ potential and shared aspirations.

They affirmed their determination to step up cooperation in culture, tourism, people-to-people exchanges, environmental protection, and climate change response, while supporting each other at regional and international forums.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stressed that Vietnam stands ready to provide training for Nepalese officials and civil servants, and called on Nepal to facilitate the operation of major Vietnamese corporations, including Viettel.
