(VOV) - New Zealand will work closely with Vietnam to organize a wide range of activities to mark the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties in 2015, said the Governor General of New Zealand Jerry Mateparae. At a reception for newly-appointed ambassador Nguyen Viet Dung in Wellington on Wednesday, Jerry spoke highly of Vietnam’s important achievements in the ongoing Renewal process, as well as the two countries’ implementation of the action plan in the second phase (2013-2016). For his part, Dung conveyed the best regards from State President Truong Tan Sang and other high-ranking Vietnamese leaders to the Governor General and briefed him on Vietnam’s recent integration achievements and its development strategies for the future. He vowed to work hard to promote a Vietnam-New Zealand comprehensive partnership in various realms, spanning diplomacy, defence, security, trade-investment, education-training, culture-tourism and agriculture.
