Vietnam, Philippine inspectorates enhance cooperation

(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung says Vietnam attaches importance to strengthening cooperation with the Philippines for the interests and development of each country as well as for a stronger ASEAN. Dung made the statement at a reception for Philippine Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales in Hanoi on Monday. He expressed Vietnam’s wish to learn experiences in anti-corruption from the Philippines and other countries. Morales reiterated the strengthened cooperation  between the two inspectorate agencies, expressing her readiness to share experiences with Vietnam in the fight against corruption and wrong-doings.

Earlier, Huynh Phong Tranh, Inspector General of the Vietnamese Government Inspectorate held talks with his Philippine’s counterpart Conchita Carpio Morales in Hanoi on Monday. Tranh said the trip was an invaluable opportunity for the two organizations to discuss and exchange experiences in preventing and combating corruption in order to improve the quality and validity of state governance. The two sides inked a Memorandum of Understanding to lay a foundation for bilateral friendship and cooperation.
