Vietnam ready to work with UN to help Cuba

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam is willing to work with the UN to help Cuba carry out the 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development, said Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, Permanent Representative of Vietnam to the United Nations.

At Saturday’s meeting with United Nations Resident Coordinator in Cuba, Francisco Pichon, Mr. Giang said that Vietnam can partner with the UN to help Cuba overcome challenges and achieve important progress in implementing the 2030 Agenda.

Mr. Pichon said that the UN is implementing the 2020-2024 Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework to support Cuba, focusing on economics, agriculture, natural disaster risks mitigation, and food security. He expressed his hope that Vietnam can actively participate in this process by sharing experiences and good practices.

Ambassador Giang underlined the special friendly cooperative relationship between Cuba and Vietnam and informed the UN representative of Vietnam's support for Cuba in multiple forms, including South-South cooperation and trilateral cooperation in agriculture and food.
