(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam aims to deepen its friendship and cooperation with Timor-Leste, said Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh during his meeting with Timor-Leste President José Ramos-Horta on the sidelines of the 2nd ASEAN Future Forum in Hanoi on Tuesday.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh proposed advancing negotiations on trade agreements, investment protection, and labor cooperation while fostering collaboration in finance, rice production, oil and gas, wind energy, and telecommunications.
President José Ramos-Horta urged Vietnam to support Timor-Leste in areas where Vietnam has expertise, such as agriculture and encouraged greater Vietnamese investment in Timor-Leste, assuring that his country would facilitate favorable conditions for Vietnamese businesses.
The two leaders agreed to strengthen cooperation in security, defense, information and communication, and education and training. On regional and global matters, they pledged to continue working closely and supporting each other at multilateral forums.
