Vietnam supports stronger cooperation between SCO and international organizations

(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has emphasized Vietnam’s support for closer ties between SCO and other international organizations, especially ASEAN, to reinforce ASEAN’s centrality in the evolving regional structure.

Speaking at the expanded SCO Summit in Tianjin on Monday, Prime Minister Chinh proposed three key solutions including promoting multilateralism and international cooperation in addressing traditional and non-traditional security challenges; mobilizing resources for development and enhancing global governance capacity; and strengthening trust, mutual understanding, and win-win cooperation.

PM Chinh said: “Vietnam continues to pursue a consistent foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation, and development, diversification and multilateralization of external relations, being a good friend, a reliable partner, and a responsible member of the international community while adhering firmly to its “Four No’s” defense policy."
The Prime Minister said Vietnam will work closely with SCO members and its partners, international friends, and partners to maintain a peaceful, cooperation and development environment in the Asia Pacific region.
