(VOVWORLD) -The 2025 Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Group III tournament opened Monday in Bac Ninh province, drawing 50 players from nine countries to vie for promotion to three spots in Group II in 2026.

The participating countries are Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Syria, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, and Vietnam.
Nguyen Hong Son, Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Tennis Federation, described the tournament as a moment for Vietnamese tennis to shine on the global stage. He said the event, which will run through Saturday, is a platform for cultural diplomacy, projecting Vietnam as a hospitable host.
The draw placed Vietnam, seeded sixth, in Group A with Thailand, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore. Group B comprises Indonesia, Syria, Jordan, Sri Lanka, and Cambodia.
