Vietnam to establish center of excellence for core technology research
(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) and US-based Qualcomm Incorporated will establish the VNPT-Qualcomm Excellence Center (VQEC) under a recently signed strategic collaboration agreement.

Operating under an Original Design co-development model based on Qualcomm’s core technologies and led by VNPT, the center will focus on cutting-edge fields including artificial intelligence (AI), next-generation mobile networks (5G/6G), the Internet of Things (IoT), edge computing, AI-powered devices, and advanced network equipment.
VQEC will serve as a hub for product research and development, technology transfer, high-quality workforce training, and commercialization of solutions built on Qualcomm platforms, contributing to Vietnam’s deeper integration into the global technology value chain. The center is slated to open in October 2025.
