Vietnam values Denmark’s assistance in fishery development

(VOVworld) – The General Department of Fishery has reviewed the Denmark-funded program for Vietnam’s fishery sector since 2000. Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Vu Van Tam said the project has contributed significantly to the sector’s growth in recent years. “The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development acknowledges the project’s role in Vietnam’s fishery sector. Last year’s export revenue of 6.1 billion USD and annual productivity of over 5 million tons have helped restructure the agricultural economy. Vietnam will continue to promote the program’s outcomes to make fisheries a spearhead economic sector.”
