The event was jointly held by the VDPO, the Soldier’s Heart (Trai tim nguoi linh) Club, and the Vietnam Women's Museum with the theme “Hearts For Peace”.
The Vietnam Women's Museum has received 56 items, one video clip, and 25 photos from five female soldiers who participated in the UN peacekeeping missions in South Sudan and Central Africa. Each is closely associated with their memories and personal stories about the tireless efforts during their duty.
The objects include a rechargeable lamp, a memento from Lieutenant Colonel Do Anh, who died while on duty in Central Africa, and a sewing machine used by Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thi Lien to sew masks, which were given free to all Mission’s staff and some people in the capital Bangui, Central African Republic, during the COVID-19 pandemic.
There are also gifts from African people for Vietnamese female peacekeepers, such as a painting by South Sudanese children for Major Do Thi Hang Nga and a bracelet South Sudanese people gave Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thi Minh Phuong.
During the event, female "blue beret" soldiers also shared their memories from their time performing international tasks in the two African countries.
