(VOVWORLD) - Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh, and Australian Foreign Minister Marise Payne co-chaired the 2nd annual Vietnam-Australia Foreign Ministers’ Meeting on Thursday.

At the online meeting, they agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation for post-epidemic economic recovery, increase assistance in agriculture technology and market approach, and resume flights at an appropriate time, to ensure epidemic prevention.
Concerning the East Sea issue, the two sides cited the importance of cooperation, peace, stability, security and safety of navigation and aviation, and peaceful settlement of disputes based on international law including the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea. The two Ministers agreed to support each other at regional and international forums like the UN, ASEAN, EAS, and Mekong Sub-region.

At the end of the meeting, they signed an Action Program to Implement Vietnam-Australia Strategic Partnership until 2023 focusing on strengthening economic links, national defense, and security, and making the bilateral strategic partnership more practical.
