(VOVWORLD) - The first group of athletes of the Vietnamese delegation left Tuesday for World Games 2025 in Chengdu, China, which will open on Thursday.
The World Games is a tournament of sports and sporting disciplines that are not part of the Olympic Games. The Chengdu games will host athletes from 118 countries and territories, who will compete in 34 sports, with 253 medals up for grabs.
The Vietnamese delegation of 25 athletes will compete in aerobics, women's beach handball, billiards, petanque, kickboxing, Muay Thai, wushu, and jujitsu.
Muay Thai athlete Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat and wushu athlete Duong Thuy Vi won gold medals at the first World Games, held in 2022.
