In attendance were 100 delegates from Vietnam’s manufacturing and export businesses and associations, as well as Indian Standards experts.
At the event, Sudhanshu Rai, an expert at BIS provided a comprehensive overview of India's technical regulation system. This includes the Quality Control Orders (QCOs) and the Foreign Manufacturers Certification Scheme (FMCS) overseen by BIS, which is mandatory for many imported goods.
Rai explained the procedures, documentation requirements, associated costs, and timelines involved in obtaining BIS Standard Mark Licences or Certificates of Conformity (CoC). He offered guidance on how Vietnamese enterprises can approach the FMCS. For Vietnamese businesses, acquiring accurate information and gaining a clear understanding of the certification process is key to expanding exports in India, a market of more than 1.46 billion consumers.
