Vietnamese military units accomplish UN peacekeeping missions

(VOVWORLD) - The Ministry of National Defense on Tuesday reviewed the work of the Engineering Team and the Level-2 Field Hospital at the United Nations peacekeeping mission.

The review conference was held online between the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department in Hanoi and Military Hospital 175 in Ho Chi Minh City.

Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan highly appreciated the performance of the Vietnamese peacekeepers and requested further coordinate with the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department in carrying out UN missions in the future.

The Engineer Team No. 2 and the 5th Level-2 Field Hospital joined the UNISFA Mission in Abyei region and the UNMISS in South Sudan.
At the end of their term, both units successfully completed their missions and were highly appreciated by the UN Mission Commander and international friends. They were respected and loved by the local people. Both units were awarded the medals for the cause of the United Nations peacekeeping mission.
