Vietnam-Hungary high-level talks

(VOVworld) – Visiting Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang and Hungarian President Ader Janos held talks on Monday in Hungary. The talks followed a solemn welcoming ceremony for President Truong Tan Sang and his wife, who are on a 3 day visit to Hungary. During talks, both sides agreed on major directions and detailed measures to make full use of each other’s potential and strength in order to forge closer ties, particularly in education, training, trade and investment. Both sides also exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual concerns and agreed to continue their coordination at international organizations and forums.

After the talks, both presidents released a joint statement and met with the media. President Janos spoke highly of the talks and expressed his hope to expand relations with Vietnam and ASEAN. President Sang told reporters:“Accompanying me on this momentous visit are our ministers and 70 leaders of Vietnamese companies, who will join the business forum on September 17 to seek opportunities for cooperation and development. To boost bilateral cooperation, we agreed to continue the exchange of high-level visits and cooperation between ministries and sectors at central and local level

The Vietnamese and Hungarian Presidents witnessed the signing of several cooperative documents: A memorandum of understanding on training cooperation, research and techniques in the use of nuclear energy for peaceful proposes;  a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the Vietnamese and Hungarian governments on water management and a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between Hanoi and Budapest.

Earlier on Monday, President Sang and his wife laid a wreath at the memorial of Heroes’ Square, a symbol of strength and history of Hungarian dynasties.
