The three key export items (chrysanthemums, bananas, and sweet potatoes) generated more than 111 million USD, accounting for nearly 47% of total export value. Among them, chrysanthemums led with 43.6 million USD, followed by bananas at 42.6 million USD and sweet potatoes at 25.3 million USD.
In addition, several other products continued to record growth: eggplants reached nearly 20 million USD, up 17.7%, while mangoes totaled 16.8 million USD, an increase of nearly 13.7%.
Japan is known as a market with high standards for food safety, traceability and packaging, but maintains consistent demand, according to the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association.
Three products accounting for nearly half of total export turnover shows that Japan not only consumes tropical fruits but also maintains strong demand for vegetables and fresh flowers. This presents an opportunity for Vietnamese enterprises to continue investing in high-standard production, enhancing values, and diversifying products in order to maintain and expand their market share in Japan.
