(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnamese fruit and vegetable sector has set a target of 10 billion USD in annual exports, the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association (Vinafruit) announced at a meeting on Monday.

In 2023, fruit and vegetable exports hit a record 5.6 billion USD, a 60% increase from 2022. By the end of last year, exports had soared to 7.2 billion USD. Vinafruit has outlined seven key tasks, including fostering collaboration among producers and businesses, forming joint ventures, and building stable, sustainable supply and value chains to elevate the global position and competitiveness of Vietnamese fruits and vegetables.
VinaFruit President Nguyen Thanh Binh said, "We continue to present business proposals to the government, advocating for policy adjustments to help producers and businesses adapt to market changes. Strengthening our role as a bridge between stakeholders remains a key priority."
