Vietnam’s Prime Minister holds phone talks with Cambodian counterpart
(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh held phone talks with his Cambodian counterpart Hun Manet on Friday at the request of the Cambodian side.

They pledged to work toward effectively implementing the agreements reached on Thursday between Party General Secretary To Lam and Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) President and Senate President Hun Sen.
The two sides agreed to continue to improve economic and investment cooperation to soon raise bilateral trade to 20 billion USD; promote local connectivity in a practical and effective manner, while developing the border gate economy, and facilitating cross-border trade and investment. They also agreed to continue negotiating and resolving pending issues in border demarcation and marker planting.
PM Chinh requested that the Cambodian side continue to pay attention to and facilitate naturalization for eligible Vietnamese people, as well as creating conditions for Vietnamese people to stabilize their lives, integrate and make positive contributions to Cambodian society; and for Vietnamese enterprises to operate stably and expand investment in Cambodia.
He affirmed that Vietnam supports efforts to peacefully resolve all disputes in accordance with international law and practice, emphasizing that Vietnam will continue to work with other ASEAN member countries to promote the implementation of the ceasefire agreement between Cambodia and Thailand on July 28, 2025, in order to promote ASEAN's central role for peace, cooperation and development in the region.
