The figure will amount to 50 billion USD in the 2030-2040 period and 100 billion USD in the 2040-2050 period. The strategy, aiming to capitalize on geopolitical and human resources advantages and establish Vietnam as a key player in the global supply chain by 2050, is divided into three phases.

By 2030, Vietnam will become a global hub for semiconductor talent and build foundational capabilities across research, design, production, packaging, and testing.

By 2040, Vietnam will position itself as one of the leading global semiconductor and electronics hubs, with a balanced approach between domestic production and FDI.

By 2050, Vietnam will be among the top semiconductor nations, mastering research and development and achieving leadership in select segments of the semiconductor supply chain.

Measures to achieve these goals include developing cutting-edge technologies for specialized chips; developing the electronics industry; offering initiatives to train and retain a skilled workforce and attract high-tech FDI in the semiconductor sector; and promoting green manufacturing and safe waste disposal in the semiconductor industry.

A national steering committee for semiconductor development, chaired by the Prime Minister, will be established to oversee the execution of the strategy
