In the list, Vietnam’s sweet and sour soup (rated 4.3 out of 5 stars) ranked 19th and Linh Fish Hotpot, a signature dish of the Mekong Delta, ranked 53rd.

Sour fish soup is described as a typical Vietnamese dish, harmonious between sour, spicy, and sweet flavors. The broth is often combined with tamarind, pineapple, tomatoes, okra, bean sprouts or other vegetables. The fish used is usually snakehead or salmon.

Sweet and sour soup is a version of the sour fish soup popular in the Mekong Delta. The soup is highly regarded for its "nutritional value, health benefits, and short cooking time."

Linh (cirrhinus jullieni) fish and dien dien (Egyptian riverhemp or Sesbania sesban) flowers are omnipresent in the Mekong Delta during the flood season. The hotpot combines the fish and the flowers to create a taste unique to the Mekong.
