Voters call for developing Truong Sa Special Zone into socio-economic, cultural hub
(VOVWORLD) - Voters in the Truong Sa Special Zone have called for greater investment from Khanh Hoa province to turn the zone into a maritime center for socio-economic and cultural activities, while also serving as a stronghold for safeguarding Vietnam’s sea and island sovereignty.

The appeal was made during a meeting with Le Huu Tri, Deputy Head of Khanh Hoa’s National Assembly delegation, ahead of the legislature’s year-end session.
Mr. Tri urged Truong Sa voters to uphold their unity and sense of responsibility, and to propose initiatives contributing to the prosperity and sustainable development of both Truong Sa and Khanh Hoa.
Located in Vietnam’s eastern and southeastern waters, the Truong Sa Special Zone is home to ports, lighthouses, meteorological stations, as well asmedical and educational facilities. It also provides docking areas that support island residents and fishermen operating in the Truong Sa fishing grounds, offering them shelter during storms.
