Jointly organized by the Voice of Vietnam, Can Tho University, and HDBank, the tournament created a professional environment for young talents to showcase their abilities and gain experience.
Player Tran Quoc Thang, a student from Can Tho University of Technology, said, “I joined the futsal tournament with a mindset of learning and gaining experience. This competition has brought me many emotions.”
Nguyen Trung Tinh, a student from Can Tho Vocational College, talked to VOV, “This is the first professional tournament I’ve ever participated in, its scale was quite impressive.”
Duy Khanh Nhat, assistant coach of the Can Tho University team, said, “The media coverage was highly professional, and the match facilities from sound to lighting were excellent. I also noticed many videos shared on TikTok by the organizers, some even featured on the Vietnam Football Federation’s fanpage. I hope the tournament will be held annually, as it promotes a very positive sporting spirit.”
Vu Hai Quang, Vice President of the Voice of Vietnam and Head of the Steering Committee for the tournament, said that futsal is a modern and dynamic sport suited to young people. The tournament has enabled many students to access larger-scale competitions.
“The 2026 HDBank Student Futsal Tournament in the Mekong Delta continues an ongoing series of student tournaments held across the country, following events in the Central Highlands in 2023, Hanoi in 2024, and Ho Chi Minh City in 2025. The aim is to move toward a nationwide student futsal tournament. The Voice of Vietnam has been the chief organizer for a decade with the support of HDBank, a diamond sponsor. After Can Tho, we plan to hold another event in Central Vietnam, which is Da Nang, and may return to Can Tho in 2028,” said Mr. Quang.
