Vuong Dinh Hue elected as Chairman of the National Assembly

(VOVWORLD) - Vuong Dinh Hue, Secretary of the Hanoi municipal Party Committee, was elected Wednesday as Chairman of the National Assembly and the National Election Council, succeeding Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

As Mr. Hue was sworn in on Wednesday morning at the ongoing 11th sitting of the National Assembly, he vowed to be absolutely faithful to the Fatherland, the people, and the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. He pledged to strive to fulfil the missions assigned by the Party, State, and the people.

Mr. Hue thanked the National Assembly for having confidence in him, saying the new post is a great honor and also a heavy responsibility for him.
“As the National Assembly Chairman, I promise to do the best I can, in collaboration with the National Assembly bodies and deputies, to promote the traditions and achievements of the National Assembly through history. We will improve our performance for the ultimate goal of national interests and people’s happiness. As Chairman of the National Election Council, I and council members will perform our tasks and authority stated by the law. We will work to successfully hold the upcoming elections to elect deputies to the National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels, who will be competent representatives of all people’s will, aspirations, and mastery,” said Mr. Hue.
Mr. Hue, born in 1957 in Nghi Xuan commune, Nghi Loc district, Nghe An province, is a Professor, Doctor of Economics. He has been a member of the Party Central Committee since 2006, a member of the Politburo since 2016, and a National Assembly deputy since 2011.
