War Invalids and Martyrs Day commemorated nationwide

(VOVWORLD) -The Communist Party of Vietnam online newspaper has hosted an art program entitled “Color of Red Flowers” to mark the 71st anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day.

At the event on Friday night in Hanoi, the organizing board presented gifts to invalids, heroic mothers, and revolutionary contributors. Since the first program in 2008, organizers have raised 2 million USD. 17,000 saving books, 610 charity houses, and thousands of scholarships have been donated to families of invalids and martyrs, heroic mothers, national contributors, and poor students.

In Quang Tri province, the Association of Quang Tri Citadel Soldiers 1972 released lanterns on Thach Han River to pay tribute to heroic martyrs. Organizers gave 32 charity houses to families of revolutionary contributors.

The Association of War Veterans in Ninh Thuan province and the My Lai Peace Foundation built 10 houses to war veterans in difficult circumstances.
