(VOVWORLD) - President João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço and his spouse on Thursday hosted a solemn welcome ceremony for Vietnamese President Luong Cuong, his spouse, and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, on their State visit to the Republic of Angola.

The ceremony was held with full honors at the Presidential Palace in Luanda, following the highest protocol reserved for Heads of State. A 21-gun salute was fired, reflecting the Angolan government's deep respect and special regard for the Vietnamese delegation.
Immediately following the welcome ceremony, President Luong Cuong and President João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço held a private meeting, before leading their respective delegations in an official bilateral talk.
During the discussions, the two sides explored concrete measures to further deepen and enhance the Vietnam–Angola partnership.
