Workshop on religious freedom experience exchanges wraps up
(VOVworld) - Vietnam and the EU have concluded a workshop to share experience in religious freedom. Delegates praised Vietnam’s progress in the promotion and protection of religious freedom. EU experience in religious diversity and secular models to protect religious values was shared at the event. Deputy Head of the Government Religious Committee, Bui Thanh Ha, said the opinions collected at the workshop will contribute to the drafting of Vietnam’s Law on Religions and Beliefs next year: “Following amendments to the Constitution last year concerning religious and beliefs issues, we are drafting a law on the role of religions in specific areas, such as education, humanitarian and healthcare. The draft law on religions and beliefs will be submitted to the National Assembly Standing Committee next July and the National Assembly next September.”
