. "Pay Tai," which means "returning to the wife's parents' house", is the custom of a married daughter and her husband visiting her parents’ house to offer incense to her ancestors and show the bridegroom’s gratitude and filial piety to his wife’s family.

This year's festival featured fun games and contests, including traditional scarf wearing, weaving fish baskets, a duck beauty contest, goat fighting, pounding sticky rice cakes, casting nets to catch fish, and crossing bamboo bridges to pick flowers.

Other activities included "dating" at a bonfire, group performances, rowing on Phai Luong stream, and a display of local products.

Nguyen Phuong Thao, a tourist from Yen Bai city, said “I found the Tay ethnic costumes very beautiful. The most excited activity was the goat fighting. The duck beauty contest was unique. This festival helped me better understand the Tay culture.”
