In 2019, Hara set up a women’s club to help Cham women escape poverty. The club helps nearly 1,000 members from 5 communes in An Giang province develop their production and encourages them to contribute to the Cham community.

“There are still many people in need, so I really want to do something to help my community. Over the past few years I’ve done charity work with the Muslim Community Representative Committee to help poor people,” said Hara.

Sity Hara has raised money from philanthropists to build charity houses worth 3,300 USD each.

Ms. A Se, a resident of Chau Phong commune, says she feels happy and secure living in a charity house given to her by the Muslim Community Representative Committee.

“My family used to live in a dilapidated house. We didn’t dare to dream of a house like this. I would like to express my thanks to Sity Hara and the Muslim Community Representative Committee,” Ms. A Se said.
