At a pre-match press conference on Wednesday in the Thammasat Stadium convention hall, the Viettel club player said the team is well-prepared and very confident about the opening match.

“We have had ten days of training for the 2022 World Cup qualifier opener. We all feel comfortable and ready to fight”, said Hai.

The 26-year-old midfielder spoke highly of the Thais, saying a new coach and 4 foreign stars will boost Thailand’s firepower.

“Thailand has a new head coach, Akira Nishino, and the Thai players are eager to impress their new coach in his first match. That motivates them. Footballers from abroad have key roles in Thailand’s line-up. I think that is the Thais’ strength”.

Hai said tonight’s match will not avoid collisions, but his side is determined to win for their fans.

“Collisions are unavoidable in a combative sport like football. We will fight will all our spirit to pull off a win. Both teams want a victory so they will devote themselves to the great match with lots of emotions.”

The Vietnam-Thailand match will kick off at 7:00PM tonight at Thammasat Stadium. 25,000 tickets of the thrilling match have been sold.
