(VOVWORLD) - Localities having industrial parks and seaports have enhanced measures to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus including overseeing the health of workers, particularly those coming from infected areas, and crewmen of ships docked at local seaports.

The Dung Quat – Hoa Phat Iron and Steal Production Complex has over 10,000 workers. Half of them are foreigners.

Director of Quang Ngai Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Ho Minh Nen, said enterprises in the Dung Quat Economic Complex have quarantined 227 Chinese workers, who returned to work after the Lunar New Year holiday.

“We have worked with health workers of enterprises and instructed them on preventive measures. We also isolate workers from epidemic areas and monitor their health,” Nen said.

The Dung Quat Economic Complex has 8 seaports receiving scores of cargos and ships with hundreds of crewmen everyday. Administrative agencies and businesses have enhanced management of foreign workers and crewmen.

Quy Nhon port in Binh Dinh province receives a big number of ships from epidemic infected areas to upload and download goods everyday. Binh Dinh provincial Border Guard Command, Quy Nhon provincial Department of Customs, and Quy Nhon port have cooperated to provide facial masks to workers and closely watch crewmen on ships from infectious areas.
