Tim Leelahaphan, Economist for Thailand and Vietnam, said Vietnam is on its path to becoming the center of the regional supply chain, a modern industrial economy, and a high-income country. The COVID-19 pandemic was well contained in 2020, which made Vietnam an attractive destination for foreign investors.

He said Vietnam has benefited from the reallocation of the supply chain in recent years and its ability to contain the COVID-19 pandemic will be key for Vietnam’s short-term economic prospect.
