The event was organized as part of the Executive Committee Conference of the Francophone Parliamentary Union (APF) hosted by the National Assembly of Vietnam.
Chairman Man said by hosting the meeting, Vietnam once again demonstrates its proactive, positive, and responsible approach to multilateral cooperation frameworks and its commitment to addressing regional and global issues, fostering solidarity, and promoting the development of the Francophone community and its member nations.
"This Forum aims to promote cooperation among Francophone countries to build sustainable agricultural systems, secure livelihoods for households, ensure food security, and address climate change on a global scale. Parliaments and parliamentarians, with their legislative roles, hold significant responsibility in advancing and monitoring these objectives. The forum serves as an opportunity for delegates to exchange ideas and actions that member parliaments can undertake to advance sustainable agriculture and food security while addressing climate challenges. It also provides a platform for parliamentarians to share insights and best practices for formulating policies and laws aimed at fostering sustainable agriculture, enhancing food security, and implementing climate change mitigation and adaptation measures,” said Mr. Man.
The forum is expected to adopt the Can ThoDeclaration, a commitment to enhancing Francophone cooperation in sustainable agriculture, food security, and climate change response.
