At a general debate by the UN Social, Humanitarian and Cultural Affairs Committee on issues related to refugees, displaced people, and humanitarian issues, Anh said refugees need assistance in obtaining legal status and that countries have a shared responsibility to support refugees through funding and other humanitarian assistance. She stressed that women and children are the most vulnerable refugees, who easily fall prey to human trafficking.

Commitments under the New York Declaration on Migrants and Refugees should be transformed into action, and the international community should protect vulnerable groups and provide them with food, medicine, water, and accommodations, Ms. Anh said, adding that Vietnam pledges its cooperation in solving refugee-related challenges.
