Vietnamese, Cambodian navies conduct joint patrol

(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnam People’s Navy and the Royal Cambodian Navy conducted the 69th annual joint patrol of the two navies earlier this week.

The shared historical waters of Vietnam and Cambodia are between Vietnam’s coast in Kien Giang province, Phu Quoc island and Tho Chu archipelago and Cambodia’s coast of Kampot province and the Poulowai island group.

The joint patrol involved Ship 261 of the Vietnam People’s Navy and Ship 1131 of the Royal Cambodian Navy.

During the patrol, the two sides performed a saluting ceremony called Hello ASEAN (a saluting ceremony at sea between naval ships of ASEAN member states), exchanged information and gifts, and exercised hand-flag and signal lamp in line with international code of signals.
