Indian and Chinese troops clash along LAC

(VOVWORLD) -A clash took place between Indian and Chinese troops last Friday in India's northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh and soldiers on both sides suffered minor injuries, Indian media reported on Monday.

Last Friday, about 300 well-equipped soldiers of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) approached the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Tawang district, Arunachal Pradesh state, India. The Indian army sent forces to confront the Chinese. When clashes broke out, both sides quickly withdrew.

The regional commander of the Indian army then met with his Chinese counterpart to discuss the incident on the basis of existing mechanisms to restore peace and order at the border.
