(VOVWORLD) - Thien An Orphanage in Pleiku city in the Central Highlands was established by nun Nguyen Thi Kim Chi in 2010. Thien An is now home to more than one hundred disadvantaged children, orphans, and single mothers.

The trees are grown mainly to create a green surrounding for the area and seem to have no economic value. But a farmer of Cai Nuoc town, Ca Mau province, fashions beautiful and valuable items from avicennia trees.

(VOVWORLD) - 35-year-old businesswoman Ho Thi Kim Oanh of Kon Tum province is promoting Ngoc Linh ginseng tea under the “One Commune One Product” program. The local medicinal herb provides a source of income for many ethnic people in the area.

(VOVWORLD) - Farmer Duong Van Tao of Tra Cu district, Tra Vinh province, was honored as an Outstanding Vietnamese Farmer by the Vietnam Farmers’ Association for his successful agricultural production. He has helped many other farmers escape poverty and enjoy a better life.

(VOVWORLD) - Landslides triggered by heavy rainfall killed at least 13 rescuers in central Vietnam, part of a 21-member team sent to rescue workers trapped by a landslide at a hydropower plant in Thua Thien-Hue province. The rescue team included journalist Pham Van Huong, head of the Department of Information and Communication of the Thua Thien-Hue e-portal, who was covering the rescue effort.
