UN upgrades Vietnam’s peacekeeping police unit to Level 3 readiness
(VOVWORLD) - The United Nations has officially upgraded Vietnam’s Formed Peacekeeping Police Unit No.1 (VNFPU1) to Level 3 under the UN Peacekeeping Capability Readiness System (PCRS), according to a recent notification from the Police Division of the UN Department of Peace Operations.

The UN’s decision confirms comprehensive readiness across organizational structure, personnel strength, command and staff functions, and proven operational capability demonstrated through on-site assessments and inspections.
Attaining Level 3 places VNFPU1 in a more proactive position within the UN’s force generation and allocation mechanism, increasing the likelihood of early deployment to key mission areas.
As a result, the voice and experience of Vietnam’s police forces are expected to have a broader impact, contributing directly to security stabilization and the strengthening of the rule of law in host countries, while reinforcing bilateral and multilateral security cooperation.
