The Hanoi Federation of Labor said over 90% of factories in Hanoi have started a new working year, and over 96% of workers have returned to work, mainly at big companies and factories in industrial and processing zones. Trade Unions and employers arranged free buses for workers living far from the factories and gave them gifts and lucky money on the first day back on the job.

Nguyen Thanh Thanh, Head of the Management Board of Long An provincial Economic Zone, said 1,500 businesses from 16 industrial parks reported that 95% of their workers have returned.

“We hope that this year Long An will continue to be one of provinces attracting the biggest FDI as in 2021. We wish that Vietnamese and foreign investors will help our province develop industry toward sustainable development,” Thanh said.

In Tien Giang province, many businesses reopened on the 4th day of the New Year. Nguyen Minh Tam, Director of MTV Minh Tam Concrete Company in My Tho City, said: “We organized an opening ceremony. This year will be better. We have signed many contracts on the first days of the New Year. We have welcomed 200 workers back from their hometowns.”

Businesses in Dong Nai province reported that 95% of their workers returned to work on Monday, while some companies have already welcomed back 100% of their workers.
