Green tourism, digital experiences promoted at Hanoi Tourism Festival

(VOVWORLD) - Crowds of visitors and Hanoi residents took part in a wide range of engaging activities at the 2026 Hanoi Tourism Festival, held at Thong Nhat Park last week. Under the theme “Green Tourism, Digital Experience,” the event promoted the image of the capital while stimulating tourism demand in 2026.

The festival featured 100 booths designed as a multi-experience journey to explore Hanoi through various themed spaces, combining cultural values, tourism products, digital technology, promotional programs, and tourism stimulus activities.

The “Memory Space” recreated the beauty of heritage sites, Hanoi’s Old Quarter, and traditional craft villages, while the “Connection Space” served as a venue for businesses to introduce new tour packages and attractive promotional offers and travel vouchers.

A highlight of this year’s festival was the “Technology Space,” where visitors explored destinations through VR360 virtual reality technology, artificial intelligence (AI), international online travel platforms, and reception robots.

Visitor Tran Ngoc Thang shared his experience with the VR360 technology. Thang said: “It was my first time experiencing it, and I was really surprised. I never imagined that standing here I could virtually travel all the way to Quang Ninh province. I believe this new technology will greatly benefit the tourism industry because it’s easy for people of all ages to use.”

The “Green Region Space” introduced eco-tourism, rural tourism, and resort tourism products and destinations including Ba Vi, My Duc, and Duong Lam ancient village.

At the heart of the festival was the “Essence Space,” where visitors experienced traditional crafts and enjoyed culinary specialties like lotus tea, young green rice, noodle soup, and steamed rice rolls.

The “Four-Region Connection Space” showcased tourism products from Thai Nguyen, Bac Ninh, Khanh Hoa, and Gia Lai provinces.

The experience was further enriched by puppet shows, tug-of-war contests, scenes from the play “The Quintessence of Tonkin”, and performances of Quan ho folk singing.

Through these diverse experiential spaces, the festival demonstrated Hanoi tourism’s development toward green, sustainable growth and stronger digital technology integration.

Nguyen Tran Quang, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism, said: “In 2026, Hanoi hopes to welcome 35.8 million visitors, including 8.6 million foreigners. The city will continue to improve its service quality, develop new tourism products, enhance the visitor experience, promote digital transformation and smart tourism, and develop tourism in a green and sustainable direction. The annual Hanoi Tourism Festival, held in the early months of the year, plays a very important role in that development.”

The 2026 Hanoi Tourism Festival reaffirmed the capital’s appeal as an attractive, safe, friendly destination for domestic and international visitors.
