The event includes National E-Commerce Week from November 27 to December 3 and the 60-hour Vietnam Online Shopping Day - Online Friday 2023 program starting at midnight on December 1 at Online Friday.vn.

During National E-commerce Week, businesses and consumers can participate in the Vietnam E-commerce Development Conference, 60 hours of shopping on online platforms, and the E-commerce and Music Experience, a festival at the pedestrian street around Hoan Kiem Lake.

When the event was held for the first time in 2014, 1,000 businesses with more than 3,000 promotional products participated. 9 years later the number of participating businesses has tripled and the number of promotional products has increased 100 fold.
Le Hoang Oanh, Director of the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said: “Online Friday 2023 aims to stimulate domestic consumption by attracting people to experience e-commerce, create incentives and practical benefits for consumers, promote communication to prevent counterfeit goods and protect online consumers, build online consumer trust, and promote electronic payments.”

This year, the event is expected to attract more than 1 billion views on the program's platforms, with at least 500 brands and 3,000 businesses participating in the 60-hour Online Shopping Day.

The Department of E-Commerce and Digital Economy has coordinated with e-commerce platforms including TikTokShop, Shopee, Lazada, Tiki, VNPAY, ZaloPay, Viettel Post, VnPost, and AccessTrade to select reputable businesses and prestigious products to participate in the event.

Nguyen Thi Minh Huyen, Deputy Director of the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said: “Together with the National Competition Commission, we want to build a digital ecosystem that protects consumers in e-commerce and better controls e-commerce transactions.”

National E-Commerce Week and Vietnam Online Shopping Day - Online Friday 2023 create a healthy online venue for buyers and sellers, and promote a breakthrough development of e-commerce and the digital economy in Vietnam.
