Reaching 20 million international arrivals this year is the result of sound and coordinated policies and guidelines in strengthening Vietnam’s position as a safe, attractive, and competitive destination.

The milestone also underscores Vietnam’s renewed appeal and standing on the global tourism map, as well as the strong recovery of the international tourism market after the COVID-19 pandemic. It reflects growing confidence in Vietnam as a safe, friendly destination rich in experiences and endless natural beauty.

Nguyen Trung Khanh, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, said: “The tourism sector has received strong attention from the Party and State along with close coordination among ministries and sectors. In particular, efforts to remove difficulties and bottlenecks including amendments to laws related to entry and exit have created practical conditions for tourism to accelerate and grow."

"Coordination among ministries and localities in organizing promotion and marketing programs, as well as large-scale cultural, festival, and tourism events, has generated strong appeal and travel demand. Tourism businesses have strengthened links in creating attractive products and promotional policies, along with robust communication, promotion, and marketing in traditional markets and new potential ones,” added Mr. Khanh.

With abundant natural resources, rich cultural heritage, diverse cuisine, and a sustainable development orientation, Vietnam is steadily affirming its position as a leading destination in Asia. The milestone of 20 million international visitors is the outcome of a year of concerted efforts, and a springboard for Vietnam’s tourism industry to move further ahead, toward the goal of welcoming 35 million international visitors by 2030.
