(VOVWORLD) - Digital technology is playing a vital role in preserving and promoting national cultural heritages. With the support of new technological tools, heritage sites and traditions are being brought to life in new ways, becoming more accessible to younger generations and international audiences. The “Live Beauty Vietnam  Season 3” program, themed “Touching heritage” is an example.

The Vietnam Cultural Heritage Conservation Support Fund in collaboration with TikTok Live recently launched the third season of its “Live Beauty Vietnam” program to promote Vietnamese culture and heritage while encouraging sustainable tourism through digital platforms.

The program aims to bring heritage closer to young people through creative livestream formats on TikTok, said Nguyen Lam Thanh, a representative of TikTok Vietnam.

“Vietnam has many beautiful places with great cultural and historical values, especially heritage sites. But many people are not aware of these places. That’s why we want to try a new approach that allows people to experience these heritage, cultural, and tourist destinations from the perspective of visiting celebrities and influencers," said Thanh.

The third season of the “Live Beauty Vietnam” series is a turning point as heritage takes center stage. It builds on the success of two previous seasons and embarks on a new journey that uses digital technology to honor traditional cultural values, ignite creativity, and share the beauty of Vietnam with domestic and international viewers.

Heritage is not only a cultural asset, but also a driver of sustainable economic and tourism development, said Thanh.

In the previous season, the program delivered more than 60 hours of livestream content from Khanh Hoa, Phu Yen, and Lam Dong province, attracting more than 10 million views. This year, it has a new goal.

“Since heritage is the crystallization of culture, people, and history, we want young audiences, the target viewers of the program, to experience Vietnam’s ancient capitals firsthand. Through visits to sites in Phu Tho, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Hanoi, and Hue, they will be able to see and feel the history of Vietnam through the lens of participating content creators and online influencers,” according to Thanh.

The third season includes two phases. An online phase from May 12 to May 18 is dedicated to content creators livestreaming and showcasing pride in Vietnam’s cultural heritage. Outstanding individuals will be selected for the next journey.

An offline phase from June 1 to June 10 will be a real-life journey to five culturally rich localities: Hanoi, Phu Tho, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, and Hue. Activities will be livestreamed on the @tiktoklive_vietnam channel, offering a multi-dimensional experience of local architecture, rituals, cultural life, and cuisine. Content creators will take on the role of storytellers, guiding audiences in a lively and relatable style.

Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Conservation Support Fund, said, “We hope this program will attract the attention of the community and encourage people who love tourism, discovery, culture, history, and heritage to come to our ancient capitals to explore the beauty of the heritages and the localities.”

This time augmented reality (AR), big data, and AI will be used to create immersive and personalized heritage experiences, said Huong added.

She said she believes this is the time when the program can fully leverage the advantages of IT, digital technologies like AI, VR, and big data, and all the modern tools available to us to bring the traditional cultural values of our ancestors closer to young people and introduce Vietnam to the world.

Cultural values once quietly preserved in ancient towers, temples, and community memory will now come to life on smartphone screens, offering a highly interactive and youth-friendly way to engage with heritage in the digital age.

Content creator Kim Thao Anh @kimthaoanh said for her the selected sites are stunning and feature the Vietnamese identity.

“Sharing them through programs like this will be quicker and more exciting," said Thao Anh.

With the creative and intimate storytelling of outstanding TikTokers, the program promises to spread Vietnamese cultural values on digital platforms in a vivid, modern, accessible way.
