The Ho Chi Minh Youth Union told a press conference on Tuesday that the Rural Youth Festival will include consist a review meeting of the 3-year campaign “Young people engaged in new rural development”, a forum for changing awareness on agricultural production, and a farm products exhibition.
The Luong Dinh Cua award will be granted to 150 outstanding rural young people. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Secretary of the Youth Union, said: “They have striven to escape poverty and contribute to the local economy. It’s the most important result of getting involved in developing new rural areas. About 40% of the awardees are leaders of the local Youth Unions, who have excelled in production and generated jobs for their peers. The others inspire young people to develop production in their home village and not migrate to other localities. It’s a way to maintain sustainable wealth.”
