(VOVworld) – The 2012 International Festival – TV Sports, and Tourism will open in Hanoi on Wednesday. The organizing board said at a press briefing today that 42 foreign film studios and 25 local studios will participate in the festival with 145 entries of various genres such as report, documentary, feature film, cartoon, and education programs. A first prize, a second prize, and a jury prize will be presented in each category. Nguyen Xuan Vinh, Director of the Center for Cinematography, Sports, and Tourism, the organizer of the festival, says ‘In previous festivals, the event attracted entries from no more than 12 countries. This year, 42 film studios from 24 nations around the world have registered. The jury includes Vietnamese people’s artists, noted cinematographers and several renowned foreign producers and members of the International Federation of Cinematography and TV Sports. From now on, the event will be held every two years in Hanoi’.
